The Drop in Centre is open to all young people in the Baldoyle area and operates every Tuesday night from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. in the Youth Club.
Young people vary in age from 13 - 16 years

Swords/Baldoyle youth service is a joint project of Catholic Youth Care and County Dublin VEC. Its purpose is to assist and support the development of youth services for the young people of North County Dublin.

Swords/Baldoyle Youth service work with young people from various communities in North Fingal. If you would like to be involved in one of our groups please don’t hesitate to call or even drop in and speak to one of our Youth Development Officers.
Young people can also avail of help/support with:
•    Form filling
•    C.V. preparation and typing
•    Job Applications



After School Groups

After Schools Groups operate in Swords, St Margarets and Baldoyle. These groups help combat educational disadvantage in the lives of young people.  To find out more contact Cormac Doran, Team Leader in Swords Youth Service.

 

YOUTH CLUBS

Swords/Baldoyle Youth Service offers support and assistance to any Community in the North Fingal area wishing to set up a youth Club/group. Information and assistance can be given with Co. Dublin V.E.C. Grant applications.  Co. Dublin V.E.C. grant aid is available to Groups catering for young people aged between 10-21 under the following headings:
Annual;
Training;
Start-up;
Special Activity;
Development;
Special Project;
Summer Project
Sports.

Training is also provided to help groups get started.


YOUTH ARTS

“Do You Wanna Perform” is a festival of youth arts for young people in the Fingal area. The festival is open to young people from:

Drama Groups
Dance Groups
Youth Clubs/Groups
Uniformed Organisations
Youthreach
School Groups
Young people with special needs.

The event caters for young people from 4-20 years and is held once a year normally in May .
Each participant receives a certificate of participation and each group receives a framed certificate as a memento of their involvement.


SPECIALISED GROUPS

Swords/Baldoyle Youth Service works with young people from various Communities in the North 
Fingal area who have been identified by local Gardai and Probation Service as youth “at risk”.

These young people are engaged in various activities with youth workers from the Youth Service.

These groups are set up following consultation with the young people and their input into programmes and activities is vital to ensure the success of the groups.

SUMMER PROJECTS

Swords/Baldoyle Youth Service offers support and assistance to any Community in the North Fingal area wishing to set up a summer Project. The Youth Service also provides a programme of events during the Month of July.

A printing and photocopying service is also available for summer Project programmes.

Assistance is also available with Co. Dublin V.E.C. grant applications and registration forms.

Training can also be arranged on request.

Swords Drugs Education Programmes


The aim of the drug awareness programme is to provide young people with factual information on drugs and to provide them with skills to say ‘no’.
The programme runs for six weeks in a school setting. Sessions last one and a half hours with young people involved in small group work.
This programme is run by the Youth Workers from Swords/Baldoyle Youth Service and currently takes place in the Swords area.
