CYC Child Protection Officers offers support and guidance to all youth clubs, summer project, faith groups on all aspects of Child Protection and Garda Vetting. She can be contacted at CYC Headquarters or by email (details below).

The Child Protection Officer can give advice, support and training to a group or project on best practic
e in developing safe recruitment procedures and systems, including Garda vetting.

All groups and project must abide by the CYC Code of Good Practice for Volunteers.
View the Code here. The Child Protection Officer ( and CYC Youth work Staff) can advise group on how to implement this code in all their work and practices in order to ensure a safe environment for children.


The Child Protection Officer can offer guidance to volunteers, youth leaders, managers and members of board of management in developing safe practice while working with young people. This can delivered through individual organisational support, training and resource publications
