Catholic Youth Care (CYC) is a leading provider of youth services in the Archdiocese of Dublin. We provide direct youth work in 10 local youth services and support for voluntary youth work in Dublin City and County, Co Wicklow and parts of Co Kildare. CYC was established in 1944 and set up in its present form in 1977. Our mission is to promote a youth work response that is caring, compassionate and Christian and enables young people to participate more fully in the life of society and church.
We provide a wide variety of initiatives and programmes: The welfare and safety of children in our services is of primary importance. We undertake to ensure a best practice response to child protection by having a clear child protection policy and procedures which are designed to underpin and demonstrate our committment to our duty of care. We provide programmes, training, events and activities for youth clubs/groups and adult leaders. We co-ordinate and support summer projects , which provide educational and recreational programmes for children and young people during the summer months. We develop and provide programmes which promote social inclusion amongst young people. We manage and coordinate crime diversion programmes which help young people involved in crime(In association with the Irish Youth Justice Service and An Garda Siochana) We deliver drug Education and prevention Initiatives. We encourage young people to become involvced in Adventure Sports Programmes. We provide local youth services in Bray, Clondalkin, Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum\Rathdown,East Wicklow, Finglas, Lucan, Ronanstown, Swords\Baldoyle and to young travellers in Tallaght. We provide Youth Information Centres in Bray, Clondalkin and Dun Laoghaire.
